His hand ran though his hair. “I’m a bit…soggy.” He glanced down at his drenched shirt.
“You needed to cool off.” I smiled.
“Did I?”
I nodded. “Definitely.”
He leaned in close. “What would a toy know about such things?”
“I’m not a toy,” I grumbled as he leaned in closer.
“So you keep saying.” His lips hovered over mine.
“What was your father doing at the charity ball?” I asked just as he was about to kiss me. His mouth turned into a frown.
He let out a deep sigh. “Violating boundaries I set. He will be dealt with. I assure you of that.”
Judging by the lethal look on his face I fully believed him.
